08 Cardholders on track for rail and Liverpool Tate two-for-one deals

ALMOST 40,000 people who have signed up to the 08 loyalty card will be entitled to free rail deals from today.

Card-holders can take advantage of a two for one offer available on the Merseyrail network within the Merseyside boundary every Thursday after 6pm.

It means any adult buying a cheap day return ticket can get a second ticket free for the same journey on the Northern, Wirral and City Lines.

The offer comes as Tate Liverpool at the Albert Dock launches its Late at Tate scheme, allowing 08 card-holders to enjoy two for one entry to exhibitions and discounts to events.

More than 39,000 people have signed up for the free 08 Card since its launch a month ago.

Every Merseyside resident is being offered the official Capital of Culture membership card, which grants them special privileges as the city gears up for 2008.

The 08 Card also entitles people to benefits including special offers on theatre tickets and free children’s entry to attractions.

The card has been launched by a partnership involving Liverpool Culture Company, transport authority Merseytravel and Liverpool lifestyle smartcard specialist Livesmart.

Thousands of cards are being distributed through tourist information centres.

People can also request their free 08 Card by logging on to www.08card.co.uk.
