Soundcity acts are revealed
ACTS playing at the first Sound City music festival in Liverpool have been revealed.
A number of established musicians, such as Reverend and the Makers, The Wombats, DJ Yoda, and Hercules and the Love Affair will be joined by breakthrough talent .
In total, Sound City will take in over 30 locations across the city, from venues such as Barfly, The Cavern and Carling Academy, to car parks, cellars, warehouses and churches – and will be a highlight of 2008.
The four-day event is designed to celebrate key record labels from the DIY and independent sector and the characters that run them by providing a platform on which they can show off established and emerging artists.
Records labels such as Domino, Deltasonic, Moshi Moshi and Wall of Sound will all host showcase parties featuring their artists.
As well as labels and artists, Sound City is attracting leading UK and international industry figures and panellists.
This will feature keynotes from luminaries from the music business and will also include a Liverpool v Manchester debate hosted by John Robb, over which city has produced the best music.
It will also be the first ever festival to be broadcast live via online virtual world Second Life.
