Free opera show in open air

THE Una Voce opera company will be performing an open-air concert on Sunday in the surroundings of Calderstones Park.

The free afternoon event, staged by the park’s rangers, will see Calderstones host the enchanting sounds of opera classics.

Una Voce was founded in 1996 with the mission of "bringing opera to all and all to opera" at affordable prices and in accessible venues.

Since that time, the group has produced seven fully-staged operas, featuring both professional and semi- professional principals and the Una Voce Chorus, and is well known in opera circles both in this country and abroad for giving a platform and training to those singers who might not otherwise have the opportunity.

All are welcome to the free event. Seating will be provided, but people can also bring along a blanket and a picnic lunch and relax and enjoy a selection of enthralling classics.

No need to book – just come along to the mansion house at Calderstones Park on Sunday, at 2pm.
