'Sushi' -Lambanana arrives at the dock

POPULAR Japanese restaurant Sapporo Teppanyaki on Duke Street have welcomed a special new addition to their team.

‘Sushi, Lamb Tempurabanana Table 5 now!!’ is one of the 120 specially decorated statues that are on display around the city, as part of Liverpool’s Capital of Culture celebrations.

Sapporo’s iconic part-sheep, part-fruit sculture has been painted by artist Linda Barlow and is dressed in the restaurant’s traditional chef uniform; a red hat, white shirt and black trousers. It also features both the colours of the restaurant and Japan’s flag, red and yellow. Sushi, Lamb Tempurabanana Table 5 now!! will remain outside The Echo Arena until August 25.
