Photographers add to ever-growing Flickr collection with images of Liverpool

A DELUGE of pictures on The Daily Post’s ever growing online photographic site are compiling perhaps the most complete picture of the Capital of Culture year.

Keen-eyed snappers have not only focused on the big events, but have turned their lenses on the ordinary man-on-the-street that go into making Liverpool tick.

Shertila’s Williamson Square composition really caught the eye, though. It freezes a child’s glee while playing in the city centre fountains.

The photographer also joined a growing trend among contributors to include a lengthy written contribution. In this case, Roger McGough’s poem, Water.

Feelinglistless likes to include mini essays with his entries. View From My Window three hours ago is a brooding image of Liverpool’s gap-toothed skyline which joins tens of top draw images using the same subject matter.

With it he appends a short history of his craft and, like many online guests, has sparked a conversation with other photographers.

Of course, the plethora of Superlambananas steadily increases with each passing day. See Formidable’s Ropewalker Superlambanana which really stands out.

As the Capital of Culture events mount up, we’re hoping to see your photos from the events and of the people of Liverpool appearing on the Flickr group, with the most eye-catching ones appearing in the Liverpool Daily Post.
