Teams wanted to join in Pub Treasure Hunt

LOCAL businesses are being invited to submit teams for one of the highlights of the city’s Capital of Culture year, the Liverpool Pub Treasure Hunt championship.

Organised by the Culture Company, in partnership with Liverpool’s Chamber of Commerce, the competition will take the form of eight separate treasure hunts around the city’s pubs on eight successive Tuesday afternoons. The first begins tomorrow, at 5.30pm and the final one takes place on August 19. There will be a prize for the winners of each con- test, and one for the overall champion.

“Ideally we’re looking for up to 50 teams and each competition will take in five or six city centre pubs and could take anything from an hour to, well, as long as you like,” said one organiser, Peter Jones, of the Chamber.
