Cathedral tribute to battling journalist

Adrian Sudbury meets Prime Minister Gordon Brown in the House of Commons

A SERVICE celebrating the life of former Liverpool student Adrian Sudbury is being held today.

The event at Sheffield Cathedral this after- noon will commem- orate the Leukaemia sufferer’s achieve- ments, including a campaign to increase bone marrow donation in Britain.

The 27-year-old Huddersfield Examiner reporter – a sister paper of the Daily Post – wanted the service to be public and everyone is invited to attend.

He also asked people to wear bright clothing.

Adrian's mother, Kay, has posted more information about the service on his online diary, Baldy's Blog.

Thanks to his efforts, Health Secretary Alan Johnson and Education Secretary Ed Balls have written to every secondary school urging them to use the resource and learn more about donation.
