Flood-hit Philharmonic back in business

The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra in concert

PERFORMANCES at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall will resume on Thursday after the venue was forced to close over the weekend due to severe flooding.

The hall has now been restored to full operational use, with the exception of some outstanding refurbishment work.

The next Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra concert, Italian Reflections, scheduled for this Thursday, will go ahead as planned.

The flooding was caused by a blocked drain. The hall was closed so the building could dry out.

SEVERAL events which were due to take place had to be postponed.

The Clapperboard Awards will now take place on Friday, October 5, at 8pm.

A new date is currently being scheduled for last Sunday’s Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra performance conducted by Vasily Petrenko and yesterday’s planned performance by the League of Well-doers will take place on January 14, 2008, at 2pm.

Tickets will be valid for the re-scheduled dates, alternatively, ticket holders may return their tickets to the box office to obtain a refund.

Ticket holders for the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra concert or Classic Film may exchange tickets for an alternative, like for like, event if they prefer. This is subject to availability.
