Film to be made on Brookside set wins £250k

A HORROR film to be made on the form-er set of Liverpool soap Brookside has been given the green light after winning its £250,000 budget as part of a new initiative.

Salvage will be one of three films made in the city and prem-iered later in the year as part of the Capital of Culture celebrations.

It was chosen as part of the Digital Departures initia-tive, launched by Northwest Vision and Media in part-nership with Liver-pool Culture Com-pany, the UK Film Council, and BBC.

Terence Davies will make his docu-mentary, Of Time And The City, an autobiographical trip through Liver-pool, and Starstruck, a film about two girls obsessed by a Premiership foot-baller, is written by Leigh Campbell.
