THEATRE: For the Love of Mrs Brown brings back one of Liverpool’s favourite characters, the up-front Irish pensioner Mrs Brown. Irish comedian Brendan O’Carroll both plays Mrs Brown and wrote the script – the fourth in the Mrs Brown stage series – which he says is the funniest thing he has ever written. EXHIBITION: Magical History Tour offers an overview of the city’s 800- year history, including a short film, Liverpool Story, which charts its time as a fishing village to the Second City of the British Empire.
