MUSICAL: Joe McGann, part of Liverpool’s McGann acting fraternity, returns to his home town to star in Fiddler on the Roof, the Broadway musical which made a star of Topol. It is set in Czarist Russia of 1905 where milkman Tevye is trying to marry off his five daughters. Songs include If I Were a Rich Man and Sunrise, Sunset. Opens tonight, 7.30pm, Liverpool Empire. RECITAL: Paul Lewis, one of Britain’s brightest young pianists, won the South Bank Show Classical Music Award in 2003 for his Schubert Sonata series. It is appropriate that he includes one of them in this Liverpool recital.
