X FACTOR star Ray Quinn headlines a spring benefit concert taking place at the Philharmonic Hall tonight.
The evening is to mark the 115th anniversary of local charity the League of Welldoers, which normally holds two afternoon fundraisers each year.
Other acts on the bill include MD Productions, known for their dance routines on the first series of Britain’s Got Talent; Champion boxer John H Stracey, who will be belting out tunes instead of opponents; Ray Wilde, former Spinner Tony Davis and his band, songs from 19-year-old Annie Bond and actress Jackie Downey, and Cy Tucker and the Friars.
The evening will be compered by Radio Merseyside’s Sean Styles and Willie Miller.
Co-organiser Lesley Black said: "Because this is our 115th year, and because it is our Capital of Culture year, we would take our normal afternoon show out to the evening.
"It has attracted different artists who would not normally be able to take part and it is a fantastic line-up.
"All the money raised helps to keep us going with our organisation."
Tickets are £15-£20, with all proceeds going to the League of Welldoers, which offers activities for older people including a pensioners’ lunch club at its premises on Limekiln Lane, off Scotland Road.
