Bugsy Malone youngsters hit the stage at civic hall
A NEW production of Bugsy Malone is being staged in Crosby this week.
Two casts, each of 30 young actors, will be taking to the stage for the performances at the civic hall from June 3 to 6, accompanied by a live band.
The show is from LHK Productions, the same company which put on the Easter pantomime Snow White at Southport Arts Centre earlier in the year.
The cast includes 16-year-old Daniel Price and 14-year-old Matthew Bell, both as Bugsy, Laura Corkhill, 15, as Blowsie Brown, and Chloe Baker, 14, as Tallulah.
They secured the parts following open auditions back in November, and have spent the last six months in rehearsals.
Producer Lee Kelly says: “This is our first youth production and we hope to follow it up next year.
“A lot of the kids in the cast have worked with me before and I’ve seen them grow up.
“It’s been extremely hard work co-ordinating 60 kids but it is all shaping up.”
Tickets are £10 for adults and £8 children for the show which starts at 7pm (2pm matinees on Wednesday and Friday). FOR more information, contact the Crosby Civic Hall on 0151 934 2141.
