A star studded musical treat

Liverpool Empire Theatre

WINNER of 10 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, show-stopping musical Hello, Dolly! has returned to the stage after 20 years.

Starring Anita Dob- son and Darren Day, this latest production comes to the Liverpool Empire from June 30 to July 5 as part of a national 30-week tour.

“And what do you do for a living, Mrs Levi?” asks Ambrose Kemper in the first scene of the musical comedy.

“Some people paint, some sew . . . I meddle,” replies Dolly. And the audience is off on a whirlwind race around New York at the turn of the twentieth century, as we follow the adventures of America’s most beloved matchmaker.

Featuring a star- studded West End cast including Anita Dobson as Dolly Levi, Darren Day as loveable Cornel- ius Hackl, David McAl- ister as the “unmarried half-a-millionaire” Horace Vandergelder, and Louise English as sophisticated hat shop owner Mrs Irene Molloy, Hello, Dolly! is full of memorable songs including Put On Your Sunday Clothes, Ribbons Down My Back, and Before the Parade Passes By,

Tickets range from £10 to £32.50. 0844 847 2525 orwww.Liverpool-Empire.org.uk
