Fans brave wind and rain to meet Westlife

Westlife in Waterstones Liverpool signing copies of their new book

LIVERPOOL’S Bold Street turned into a mecca for devout Westlife fans yesterday, when the boys called into Waterstones to sign copies of their new book.

More than 400 fans lined the street for the book signing, with a large number of them having queued since Tuesday night, braving wind and rain to meet the Irish boyband.

A spokesman for the store said: “It’s the busiest book signing we’ve ever had, and there was such a mix of fans from small children to women in their 50s and 60s. There were women with personalised T-shirts with Westlife written in glittery letters, and others with scarves. Some were crying after meeting the band.”

The band, formed and managed by Louis Walsh, were in the city signing copies of their new autobiography, Westlife – Our Story.
