Rare chance to see Antje Duvekot

SINGER-SONGWRITER Antje Duvekot plays a rare UK gig in Wirral in November, and tickets are now on sale.

Originally from Germany, US-based Antje Duvekot has burst on the scene with her debut album Big Dream Boulevard, and won a clutch of top awards for her quirky, folky sound, including the John Lennon songwriting award and being named one of the top 50 folk albums in the US.

She has spent the last two years since its release on the road, and is now promoting its follow-up, The Punch Drunk Tight Rope Dancer, due out before Christmas.

Antje won the prestigious, Kerrville New Folk Award and went on to win the Boston Music Award for outstanding folk act.

Her album was voted number one folk release of 2006 by the Boston Globe and was named one of the to the top 10 releases of the year. The last year was spent travelling the USA, performing and promoting.

Antje Duvekot will be performing at the Telegraph Inn, on Mount Pleasant Road, New Brighton, November 17.
