Commercial break as film star Jude Law hits Ainsdale beach

ACTOR Jude Law battled with torrential rain and high winds as he filmed a TV advert on a rain-swept Merseyside beach yesterday.

Tight security surrounded Ainsdale beach, near Southport, where the 35-year-old star of Alfie and The Talented Mr Ripley was strutting his stuff.

It is thought the dunes at Ainsdale will double as a backdrop for tropical scenes in the commercial for a top brand of after- shave.

One man, who was walking his dog along the beach, told how Jude dodged the showers.

James Williams, 47, said: "It was all a bit surreal seeing a big star like Jude Law walking through the sand dunes on a wet and windy day here in Southport.

"He was dressed in just a dark suit and T- shirt, so I guess he must have got quite cold because there was a stiff wind blowing.

"Jude seemed pretty relaxed, although they were filming the same scenes over and over again, but I supposed he’s used to that.

"If they’ve got to make the dunes look like the tropics for this advert, it seems the producers have got a real job on their hands."
