Travis’ new album signed, sealed and delivered with Academy concert

TRAVIS and their Liverpool-based guitarist, Andy Dunlop, played at the Carling Academy last night to promote their latest offering, Ode to J. Smith. The Scottish outfit spent the early part of the day at HMV signing albums before plugging in at the Hotham Street venue.

They then set about the business of cranking out new songs such as Something Anything, their latest single. Dunlop, for once, did not have far to travel from his designer pad on Sefton Park.

Their rockiest album to date, which took just four months to write and record, was released yesterday. Travis have twice won Brit Awards for best album, and are credited with paving the way for Coldplay, Keane and Snow Patrol.
