The Killers

MTV has announced four more stars for 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards in Liverpool.

The 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards will be broadcast live from the Echo Arena, Liverpool – European Capital of Culture - on Thursday November 6 and are sponsored by Esprit, Sony Ericsson and Dell.

Fresh from her stand-out performance of her new single ‘So What’ at the MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles, Pink returns to the MTV Europe Music Awards for the third time. Having presented an award in 2001, she returned to perform successively in 2002 and 2003 she is nominated in Most Addictive Track for the same single.

Welsh soul-singer Duffy makes her MTV Europe Music Awards debut and is nominated in three categories. As well as being nominated for Album of the Year, Addictive Track and New Act, Duffy is also currently a nominee in the New UK & Ireland Act, sponsored by Virgin Trains, alongside Leona Lewis. If Duffy is successful in the New UK & Ireland Act she will lead with the most nominations in this year’s Awards.

The Killers will be taking to the stage in Liverpool following their debut at the 2006 MTV Europe Music Awards in Copenhagen. Having performed to an audience of over 7,500 people in the city’s main Square Rådhuspladsen the band went on to win Best Rock Award.

Brandon Flowers, lead singer of the band said: "We are thrilled to be back to perform at the EMAs. The fact that it's in Liverpool is just caramel on the apple. It is, after all, the birthplace of music.
