Robot artist exhibition is being staged in Liverpool

James said: “The exhibition explores the idea of the preciousness of art, being put into the hands of a detached machine – art robot Optimus Wayne.

“It also explores the idea of the artist as the author.

“In allowing the audience to work with Optimus Wayne, the public and the robot become the artist. The robot seems to be sparking everybody’s imagination, artists and non-arts people.

“He makes a complex idea very fun and simple.”

Both James and Wayne are hoping the robot will introduce people to art who would not normally become involved with the artistic world.

Optimus Wayne THE ART-OMATION exhibition and live demonstration will take place at View Two Gallery, Mathew Street, Liverpool, from today to Saturday. Opening times are Thursday - Friday, 12-4pm, and Saturday, 12-5pm.
