Feminist art show at Liverpool's Blackburne House

A LIVERPOOL student has curated what she believes to be the city’s first feminist art exhibition.

Around 15 artists have work on show, including fellow students, stay-at-home mums and professionals.

Twenty-four year-old Sarah Stones, a second year fine arts degree student at Liverpool Community College, says: “It is an opportunity for women of all backgrounds with an interest in art to show their work at a well-known Liverpool venue with a deep history of women’s education and training

“My intention is to put on an exhibition that was feministic and yet not aggressive, more of a celebration of a cross section of female art across the north.”

Sarah moved to Liverpool from Wakefield, West Yorkshire, to study.

The exhibition runs until October 31.
