Shock warning to Liverpool Playhouse ttheatre-goers over new production Ghost Stories

PREGNANT women, young children and those of a nervous disposition are being advised against watching a new production at the Liverpool Playhouse.

Ghost Stories is running at the theatre until February 15.

Management have drafted in extra healthcare staff to make sure that people do not get too overwhelmed.

While there are always first aiders on site at the Playhouse, staff were unsure how the audience would react to the new production and brought in St John’s Ambulance teams as a precaution for the previews of the show, although they may not be present at every showing.

Dominic Beaumont, spokesman for the Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse said: “As Ghost Stories contains moments of extreme shock and tension, we felt that it was appropriate to enlist aid during the first few performances.

“This is a new production and the theatres felt it was the proper precaution to take while we gauged the audience’s reaction to the play.

“We do on occasion enlist additional first aid support.

“We will continue to warn audiences before they book that the show is unsuitable for anyone under 15.”
