"I think men are realising how much better they could look with just a little bit of grooming," she explains.
"If a man is comfortable with himself then why should it affect masculinity?
"Liverpool lads have always looked after themselves, but perhaps not to the recent extent."
Still, as the American professor Mason Cooley succinctly put it: "Vanity well fed is benevolent. Vanity hungry is spiteful."
