Once the preserve of the wealthy, pre-season styles offer hot fashion at cool savings. Laura Davis reports

IT MAY seem like one of the fashion world’s acts of cruelty to see summery clothes appearing in stores when it’s still blowing a gale outside. 

But, though you may not be planning a winter boat trip, it is still worth checking out the cruise collections.

Originally created for the mega-rich to wear lounging on board their luxury yachts in sunnier climes, while the rest of us mere mortals shiver in our pullovers, pre-season clothing is fortunately no longer limited to nautical themes. 

It’s especially handy if you’re planning to escape to warmer weather before spring, and can only find winterwear in the shops.
