Debbie Johnson visits the stunning apartment that's in great demand by film and TV companies
GARY MILLAR'S city centre apartment does not just provide a wonderful backdrop to his own life - it also offers an irresistible venue to film-makers from around the world.
The penthouse on Exchange Street East has been used by crews making Hollyoaks in the City, Cold Feet and several adverts for global use.
Gary says: "Rarely a month goes by that we are not contacted by somebody via the Liverpool Film Office. The apartment is very spacious, and the views are stunning - the river, the Liver Birds, it really is a wonderful location if you want an evocative Liverpool background.
"Sometimes we clear out for the day, and sometimes we stay here and sit quietly and watch it all going on."
Gary shares the three-bedroomed home with his partner, Steve, who he recently married in a civil partnership. They have lived there for six years, and made the place their own with unique choices in interior design and artwork.
The living room and Mezzanine bedroom are huge, and the terraces have views of St George's Hall, the Town Hall and the Liver Buildings. Together with a rooftop hot tub, the space and the facilities make it the perfect place for Gary and Steve to work, rest and play.
