High waist to a new look

Although favoured by a certain X-Factor judge, a new trend is set to be a fashionista favourite. Laura Davis reports

IT SEEMS that nothing can go wrong for Simon Cowell at the moment. His arch enemy Louis Walsh has left X-Factor, Ray Quinn has told the world how "sweet" the judge is, and waistlines that cover your bellybutton are back in fashion.

Kate Moss and Sienna Miller are among the trendsetters copying his look, while Kylie and Coleen have been spotted wearing Chloe's new wide leg, high waist jeans.

Like leggings and tunics, it's a style that you need to get exactly right if you're going to pull it off without wanting to destroy any photographs of yourself when you look back in a few years' time.

Tall dedicated followers of fashion can get away with flared high-waisters, but shorties should opt instead for a pair of shorts or a pencil skirt.
