Debbie Johnson meets a young Irishman who’s made Liverpool his home
Riain says: “I love the location of it. I like the fact you are close enough to the big city to enjoy all of its charms, but when you walk home it is so peaceful.
“And I haven’t seen it yet but I’m told that people come down there to fish as well, which is again pretty relaxing.”
Riain plans to put his own original artwork on the walls, as he is a keen painter, and also use the office space for his other love of music, guitars and song-writing.
That’s when he has any spare time.
He says: “Zoo is really busy and I am absolutely loving it. It’s such a good crack.
“Everybody who works there is mad, which suits me down to the ground, and I enjoy my job so much – giving someone a good haircut is very satisfying, you know, if someone comes in and they are a bit down or they’ve been under the weather, you can pick them right back up again by making them look good.”
