HAVE you been tempted to try a makeover from one of the beautifully made-up ladies on cosmetics counters - but been afraid you would end up looking like Aunt Sally?
The truth is you can learn a lot. Style City went to try out some of the spring/summer makeovers in Liverpool city centre
SOPHIE FREEMAN had her makeover with Leander Atkins at Bobbi Brown, John Lewis, Liverpool
MY SKIN was cleansed and toned with Bobbi Brown products to prepare for a yellow toned foundation which was perfect for my skin. Apparently, Bobbi Brown was the pioneer of the yellow-toned foundation, which helps avoid the dreaded orange look.
Using the new spring palette, a purple eye-shadow was swept along my lid and a dark grey powder eye-shadow applied as eyeliner, using a moistened brush. A rosy pink blusher was applied to my cheeks and lip-liner and gloss completed the look.
How much? Free.
How long did it take? About 30 mins for the day look, another 15 minutes on top of that to vamp it up for night.
Any samples? No.
Should I book? Not always necessary, but be prepared to wait if you haven’t booked.
Recommended: Yes.
Key advice: When applying eye creams, use a dab the size of half a grain of rice for both eyes, and apply with the ring finger as this has the lightest touch.
