Looking good is not the preserve of the young. Laura Davis reports
J Jeans by Jasper Conran green blouse, £35. All clothes are from Debenhams
BEAUTY may be traditionally associated with youth, but that doesn’t mean all young women are better looking than their elders.
Never was this more evident than in the recent Debenhams adverts, where Jane Seymour’s radiance eclipses the more preened appearance of Hustle star Jaime Murray.
The former Bond girl is as striking at 55 as she was when she started acting at the age of 17, and she certainly looks better in the department store’s sexy floral dresses than she did running around dressed for a square dance as Dr Quinn Medicine Woman.
Ageing gracefully is not just about anti-peptide moisturiser and a good hair cut – it’s also important to know your body shape and dress to suit it.
If you’re unhappy with your neckline, avoid scoop or V-neck tops, or pair them with a scarf. Cover upper arms with longer sleeves and watch hemlines.
Fitted clothes are especially flattering.
