WOMEN still in love with the Milk Tray man will be delighted with purple’s status as the must-have colour for the new season.
In every shade from soft lavender to deep violet, it is perfect for party-wear or everyday.
Wear as a block colour to be fashion forward, or pick out a versatile staple such as a coat or bag.
Rare sequin hanky dress, £56, Freedom silver necklace, £8; Rare bubble dress, £45, black leggings, £16
Natural blondes with porcelain skin suit paler shades such as light violet, while brunettes look fabulous in rich aubergine and royal purple.
Redheads should go for periwinkles that contain a hint of yellow, and those with cool colouring – ash tone hair and pinkish skin – should opt for icy shades, including cool violet and lilac.
Sleeveless top, £25, Freedom faux pearls, £10; Plum jacket, £45, black jumper, £10
* DANCERS Cara Cooper and Nathan Young, from the English National Ballet’s production of The Snow Queen, feature in this week’s fashion shoot.

It tells of a girl, Gerda, who rescues her young friend, Kay, from the clutches of the Snow Queen who has created eternal winter.
