Laura Davis looks at the well-groomed autumn/winter collection from Hugo Boss

THE silhouette for autumn/ winter is far from the voluminous swathes of fabric that we all floated around in during the summer.

Waists are cinched in and material much closer fitting to show off feminine curves. Hemlines stop at just below the knee, creating an elegant shape.

Trouser suits are fashionable, too, as long as the usual boyish boxy shape is nipped in at the waist.

This is a well-groomed look so ensure hair and make-up are subtly stylish for a hint of luxury.

THE grand hallways, boardrooms and roof-top of the Cunard Building provide the backdrop to this week’s fashion shoot.

Completed in 1917, it was built in the Italian Palazzo style with Greek revival detail – pillars lining the entrance hall and corridors.

First-class passengers would have awaited their passage on board a luxury cruise liner on the ground floor, while the Queen Mary liner was designed in offices on the fifth floor.
