Fashion: Cosy up to winter warmers

There’s nothing like chunky knits to keep you feeling warm during these cold months. Laura Davis reports

WARM, cosy knits and heavy fabrics are as important to the traditional idea of winter as crumpets toasted over a log fire.

In reality, of course, we all have central heating and rarely step out in the drizzle, except to walk from the car park to the office.

But there’s still a lovely feeling to be got from wrapping a cashmere scarf around your neck and snuggling up with a chunky pullover.

Opened in 2000, in the days when Liverpool was desperate for some swanky bar-restaurants, it has just been given a mini-makeover to refresh its look. A favourite with Premiership footballers and their wags, it is housed in the beautiful Victoria Buildings and retains many original features.
