Laura Davis discovers the flowing lines of Grecian-style shape this season
Cream one-shoulder ruffle maxi dress, £150; Jensen cave pendant, £200; earings, £80 a piece; and bracelet, £545
THE classical lines of Ancient Greek sculpture have been held up as a benchmark for beauty for thousands of years, so it makes sense that the Grecian look is one of the most elegant of the season.
Long, flowing dresses, fitted neatly under the cleavage, are heavy with fabric and flatter most figures.

Modernise this historical style by choosing pastel colours and a hint of a ruffle – another look that is hot for spring/summer.
THE classical surroundings of the Lady Lever Art Gallery provide the backdrop to this week’s fashion shoot.
Founded in 1922 by William Hesketh Lever, the first Lord Leverhulme, in memory of his wife, it holds one of the most beautiful collections of fine and decorative arts anywhere in the country.
Lemon silk maxi dress, £160; Pave Josephine pendant, £6,250; and studs, £3,950
Fitting in with the Grecian theme, the gallery’s Object of the Month is a collection of red and black Greek figure pottery.
There will be a public talk on the exhibit on Wednesday, April 16, at 1pm.
