WANT to see Madonna at her most majestic, Princess Diana in a private moment, or Audrey Hepburn relaxing between film takes?
Well, you can see these icons and more captured in a series of incredible images in a fabulous exhibition currently in store at Flannels in Liverpool’s Metquarter.
The designer boutique has teamed up with Cointreau and Getty Images to host the Be Cointreauversial exhibition.
Sienna Miller, Brigitte Bardot, Madonna and Princess Diana rub shoulders with ordinary women in this stunning collaboration between the famous photography gallery and the legendary French liqueur.
Whether black and white or colour, each photograph is described as a visual celebration of what it means to “Be Cointreauversial” – capturing a mood and strength of spirit that is stylish, original and timeless. Besides famous faces from today and yesterday, inspirational shots of everyday individual, yet equally charismatic, women are on display.
Images range from a sophisticated Elizabeth Taylor sipping a drink at Jersey airport, to fashionista and actress Sienna Miller clutching a cocktail after her London stage debut.
From classic early 20th-century photographs to more contemporary moments, all of the women brim with confidence and joie de vivre before the lens.
“The exhibition gives a new take on our infatuation with celebrities,” says Louise Garcezewska, of Getty Images.
“While many of the individuals are famous, their celebrity status is almost superfluous to the photographs: what is interesting is the way the subjects express themselves. This is what marks them out as timeless and iconic.”
The exhibition is in store for the next two months.
