STELLA McCARTNEY last night spoke of her excitement at unveiling her autumn/ winter 08 collection in Liverpool, in a one-off catwalk show this weekend.
The acclaimed fashion designer will mark the city’s year as Europe's Capital of Culture with a special event at the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts.
She said: "If it was not for that city, I would not be here.
"There is more going on in Liverpool than meets the eye. It’s always been a pot of talent and creativity.
"The city has been through a lot and still has more to give! I can't wait for the event at LIPA on Sunday."
All proceeds will go to LIPA, the performing arts institute founded by her father, Sir Paul.
Taking place , Stella’s show will include live music although no acts have still to be confirmed.
Sir Paul will be at his daughter’s show in the Paul McCartney auditorium, just hours before taking to the stage at Anfield for his Liverpool Sound concert.
It will be followed by a Champagne reception with catering by top local restaurant 60 Hope Street.
The show is just hours before Sir Paul is due on stage before a crowd of 35,000 at Anfield. But he is still expected to attend the fundraising fashion event.
The former Beatle said it would be a busy day on Sunday, but joked: "What’s a dad to do?"
Sir Paul has also revealed the backstage crew at Anfield will be tucking into vegetarian fare – but those enjoying hospitality in the stands will not face any restrictions.
There had been a suggestion the committed vegetarian had asked for corporate catering to cut out meat from its menus.
He said: "Our catering backstage is always vegetarian.
"That was me and Linda. On our big US tours we’d be buying 140 meals a night and because we were committed veggies the idea of 140 meat meals wasn’t cool, so we started a canteen which had to out do any canteen on the road."
Tickets for the fashion show are still on sale at Cricket, on Mathew Street, or call 0151 227 4645 x22.
