You don’t have to turn your back on style to enjoy the summer’s festivals. Emma Pinch reports

AS IS customary in fashion matters, blame Kate Moss. The Croydon-born style queen has set the bar dauntingly high for the rest of us in the muddy field of festival fashion.

Remember when festivals meant soggy campsites, barely visible stages, stinky loos and plastic cups of watery lager? Clothes were warm, old, hippyish and ones you didn’t mind getting wrecked.

Then Kate stalked onto the scene, (with Sienna in hot pursuit) – all wellies and microshorts, tiny waistcoats and aviator sunnies – and the female festival-goer had to up her game.

The signature festival fashion look has La Moss’s trademark stamped all over it – artlessly bunged together but reeking of West London boho, rock band chic.

But there are lots of choices out there that you don’t need a supermodel’s bank balance for.

Cheshire Oaks has clothes from designers and the cream of the high street chains at up to 70% off.

* THIS week’s fashion shoot took place at Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa, a destination sporting resort which combines 18 and nine-hole golf courses and a golf coaching academy with a holistic treatment centre, pool, steam rooms and gym.

It also has 62 bedrooms and a wide choice of conference rooms, to combine business events with a couple of rounds on the greens.
