This is opulence and elegance with all the frills attached. Laura Davis reports
"IT MADE a statement," said designer Betty Jackson in style bible Vogue about the creations of Liverpool's very own Paul Robinson.
Recently graduated from the prestigious Royal Academy in London, Paul has come up with an exuberant collection of avant garde pieces reminiscent of exotic birds and tropical wildlife.
Beautifully tailored, with cascading ruffles, they are bold in canary yellow, black or white.
Paul won the fashion award at last week's Design Show Liverpool and was previously a recipient of the much coveted Harold Tilmans scholarship.
* THE ornate Gothic revival surroundings of Dr Duncan's is the backdrop for this week's fashion shoot.
Built in 1901, the building had several incarnations, including as a Royal Navy recruitment office and a bus workers' canteen, before being opened as a pub in 1999.
Owned by Cains brewery, it is the perfect spot for enjoying a pint of real ale (or a G&T) while admiring the striking tilework.
