Laura Davis shows you how to be a groovy chick with the dip-dye dress this summer

WHERE would designers in the noughties be without previous decades to play with?
This time, it’s the turn of the late 60s, but before you dedicated followers of fashion leap into action, take note – this summer sees a subtle version of the look in the form of the dip-dye dress.
Less OTT than the tie-dye version, this two-tone fabric can be glammed up for more formal occasions or worn barefoot on the beach.

Keep it simple with just a few accessories or add a belt to cinch in the waist.
* THE stage set for Eight Miles High, at the Royal Court, is the setting for this week’s fashion shoot.
Right: Maxi dress, £35 to £15.
Converted into an outdoor festival, indoors, the stage has been turfed over with blossom trees spreading their branches out towards the audience.
Written and directed by Jim Cartwright, the show is set during a music festival in 1968 with the actors performing as a band as well as carrying out their roles in the plot.
The show runs until August 16.
