Shine this summer

Emma Johnson takes you through the beauty regime that will keep you glowing on the beach

FOLLOWING last week’s bikini body special you should by now be under way with your new diet and exercise regime – or at least thinking about getting started.

But shaping up is only half the battle if you want to look hot on holiday this summer.

Here we give you the lowdown on beach beauty.

BUMP-BUSTING

WHETHER you are short, tall, overweight or a skinny minnie, cellulite does not discriminate.

The orange peel effect attacks us all, usually appearing in areas that have poor circulation. The best way to attack it, in conjunction with healthy eating and exercise, is twice daily massage.

Combine with a firming anti-cellulite product to smooth the skin like L'Oreal Body Expertise NutriSummer Tone Up, £7.82.

Sally Pen-ford, from the Inter-national Dermal Institute, also recom-mends body-brush-ing: "Brush gently but briskly from the ankles to the knees, then from the knees to the bikini line. This will encourage the lymphatic circulation which is responsible for moving and eliminating toxins from the body."

If you are really serious about banishing cellulite, give the new celebrity favourite a try: Fitflop Walkstar firming flip-flops, £36 (www.fitflop.com) which are said to help firm up thighs.

Body Shop international make-up artist Chase Aston offers this tip: "To make legs appear slimmer and toned, first apply a natural fake tan all over legs, then take a shimmer, apply to the centre of the legs starting from the shin and blend all the way up to the top of the thigh." Try The Body Shop’s Body and Leg Shine, £11.50 or Boots No7 Bronzing Silk Legs, £11.50.
