Festival of fashion rocks Glastonbury music fans

Style rocks at Glasto. Emma Pinch looks at what to wear with your wellies

GLASTONBURY unfurls this week in all its muddy, psychedelic, cider-sodden glory, and it’s not only the musicians hoping to strike the right note.

Each year gets more and more fashion-conscious, as befits a line-up that gets ever more stellar.

Shorts, wellies and a matted doghair jumper just won’t do these days, as festivals aren’t just for old hippies.

Wading through the mud in recent years, we’ve had Kate Moss and her ubiquitous rock chick look, Peaches Geldof’s studenty Boho, and Lily Allen’s mildly unstable prom queen.

Perfect festival gear is practical, waterproof and, as everyone who has ever been dragged up Moel Famau on a wet Sunday knows, lightweight layers you can strip off and stow in your rucksack.

Alternatively, of course, rough it the celeb way and bowl up in a Winnebago. That’s rock and roll.

THIS week’s shoot took place in Sefton Park and the Alicia Hotel, Winner of “Merseyside Hotel of the Year” for two consecutive years. The Alicia Hotel offers 40 top quality bedrooms, a much sought-after conference and banqueting centre, and the delightful “Glass House” restaurant and bar overlooking the park.
