Sir Paul is ‘honoured’ by tourism award win

Another winner from the north west was the Chester Grosvenor Hotel and Spa, which picked up the Large Hotel of the Year award.

The Grade II listed building has benefited from a large financial investment over recent years.

Mike Cooksley, chairman of Visit Chester & Cheshire, said: “This is a tremendous achievement for Cheshire and highlights yet again the fantastic quality of our hotels in the north west and Cheshire in particular.'’

Felicity Goodey, chair of the Tourism Forum for England’s Northwest, said: “England’s Northwest has set out to become one of the most popular destinations in Europe.

‘‘To have so many national winners is proof that we have a tourism industry which is really raising the game, and will not be satisfied until we are recognised as a premier destination.”
