Sir Paul McCartney, at Liverpool Anglican Cathedral _320
A GUITAR amplifier signed by Sir Paul McCartney is to be auctioned to support a charity which combats the threat of landmines.
Bidding will start on the new hand-wired Vox AC15H1TV next month, a spokeswoman for Sir Paul said.
Vox amps have been used by bands for more than five decades and have been associated with artists including the Beatles.
Last month, Sir Paul, who is preparing to play the Liverpool Sound concert at Anfield on Sunday, led a host of celebrities in signing a petition calling for a ban on cluster munitions.
The No More Landmines petition has been calling on the Government to work towards a strong treaty for a ban on the production, use, transfer and stockpiling of all cluster bombs.
