Beatle portraits revealed at climax of two-year art project

THE Fab Four returned to St George’s Hall last night – in the form of a complete set of portraits by Liverpool artist Tony Brown.

The images of each of the Beatles mark the culmination of a series of paintings called 100 Heads Thinking As One, depicting people who have made their own contribution to Liverpool life.

Mr Brown has been working on the project for two years, since deciding he wanted to do something to celebrate the 800th anniversary of Liverpool being granted its Royal Charter.

But the exhibition proved so popular that it has continued right through Capital of Culture year.

Mr Brown, 47, decided to top the series with portraits of each Beatle.
