Armed seige in Ellesmere Port

ARMED police have surrounded a property in Ellesmere Port after a 42-year-old man barricaded himself in the home of an ex-partner.

Cheshire Police said a number of officers “with the capacity to arm” are at the property in Seymour Drive but are talking to the man who they describe as being in a “highly agitated state.”

It is understood that a number of houses have been evacuated as a precautionary measure while negotiations are on-going.

A Cheshire Police spokesman said it was a domestic incident and he had thrown his ex-partner out before locking himself in the property.

There is nobody else in the house with him.
