Man shot in Everton

A 33-year-old has been shot and wounded in an attack in Everton early this morning.

He sustained a serious though not life threatening injury to the leg at about 1am after a shot rang out on Gregson Street.

North West Regional Ambulance said they treated a lone man on nearby College Street North and paramedics took him to the Royal Liverpool Hospital.

Forensic experts carried out an examination at the area and detectives have been door to door to take witness statements.
