KNIFE wielding robbers forced a member of staff back into the booking office at Maghull railway station and demanded cash.
Detectives from British Transport Police (BTP) have released CCTV images of the two men who attacked the 49-year-old staff member at Maghull railway station.
Merseyrail are also offering a reward of up to £5,000 for any information leading to the successful arrest and conviction of the offenders.
The first man, believed to have been wearing a jacket with the Merseyrail logo on.
He approached the booking office on the Liverpool bound platform and engaged a staff member in conversation.
As the member of staff spoke to him he pulled out a large knife or cleaver and backed the victim into the booking office through an open door demanding money. He then left the station on foot with a quantity of cash.
The second man remained on the Ormskirk bound platform and left the station around 15 seconds after the first man in the same direction.
The staff member was not physically injured but was left extremely upset by the ordeal.
