Sections of M6 closed after four vehicle crash

SECTIONS of motorway have been closed after a road crash involving four vehicles.

Four people were injured in the crash on the M6 near Warrington at 2.20pm today , some seriously, and all were taken to hospital via ambulance.

An air ambulance took one casualty to Hope Hospital in Manchester.

The southbound carriageway of the M6 is closed from junction 21a near Warrington, along with the M62 slip road to the carriageway.

Lanes three and four of the M6 northbound are closed from junction 21a and motorists are advised to avoid the area, as severe congestion have formed.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
