A MAN arrested on suspicion of murdering a man who was cycling through Liverpool has been released on bail.
The 24-year-old, from Walton, was arrested on Wednesday over the murder of David Garrity, who was found dead in an alleyway in the early hours of Sunday after being chased through the city’s streets by a gunman in a car.
The gunman fired three shots as Mr Garrity fled down the alleyway, just off Stanley Road, near the junction of Boundary Street in Kirkdale.
One bullet struck him in the upper torso and he was killed instantly.
A 28-year-old from Kirkdale who was also arrested on suspicion of murdering Mr Garrity was released on bail earlier this week.
A spokeswoman for Mersyside Police said: "Detectives are appealing for any passengers travelling on the number 53 bus along Stanley Road in the direction of Bootle between 2.40am and 3am on Sunday June 15 to come forward."
