Tranmere friendly falls foul of weather

TRANMERE Rovers' friendly against Bolton, due to be held at Prenton Park this evening, was called off shortly before kick-off because of a waterlogged pitch.

Torrential rain flooded the pitch from tea-time, leaving it under 6 inches of water in some places.

The decision was taken that the surface was unplayable.
