Power cut hits North Liverpool

UP to 1,000 homes across north Liverpool have been affected by a power cut.

Householders in L5 and L6 reported problems with their electricity supply in the early hours. Some homes have been left without electricity while others are experienced problems with low voltage.

Engineers from Scottish Power started work on repairing the fault this morning and a normal power supply is expected to be restored by 3pm today.

A Scottish Power spokeswoman said: "We would like to apologise to customers. Our workers have been working flat out since this morning to get it fixed."
